NEW YORK—Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is expanding its portfolio, adding five new-build properties across five countries. All are scheduled for completion by 2016.

The new additions will include the brand’s Western Hemisphere debut, with properties under development in St. Lucia, Dominican Republic and Colombia; its first presence in Bhutan, and the opening of Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, China at the end of 2013.

The expansion is in tandem with new leadership: Wolf Hengst is the new executive chairman and Neil Jacobs is CEO.

Bernhard Bohnenberger remains as president of Six Senses and Anna Bjurstam  is the new VP/spa and wellness for the brand.

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas also will introduce a new website in early March.

Six Senses resorts and spas currently operate in Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe.
