The St. Giles Tuscany Hotel in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood as been repositioned as a luxury property, following a major renovation.
NEW YORK–St.Giles Hotel Group reopens the 123-room Tuscany Hotel in Manhattan's Murray Hill neighborhood later this month, following an extensive renovation.
London-based St. Giles acquired The Tuscany and The Court, located on the same East 39th St. block, from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in 2010. The two hotels were previously part of W Hotels. The 1928-era Tuscany was originally an apartment building. It is being repositioned as a luxury property, according to Abigail Tan, St. Giles director of corporate affairs and strategic international investment. The 199-room Court Hotel, by contrast, is being positioned as upscale.
Designed by New York-based Jeff Lincoln Interiors, The Tuscany's new look is intended to evoke a contemporary residential sensibility, akin to a guest's luxury Manhattan pied a terre. The cost of the renovation was not disclosed.
