SAN FRANCISCO–DiamondRock Hospitality Co. acquired its first hotel here, the 94-room Hotel Rex, for $29.5 million.
The full-service, boutique property is located in the city's popular Union Square sub-market and is managed by Joie de Vivre Hospitality, LLC.
DiamondRock, a lodging REIT based in Bethesda, MD, owns 27 premium hotels with approximately 11,600 rooms. Most of DiamondRock's hotels carry established brand names like Hilton or Marriott.
